Reflecting on 2025: $6,900 Raised and 60 Mates Strong

2–3 minutes

If there is one thing we learned in 2025, it’s that a small room filled with the right people can make a massive noise for mental health. As we look ahead to our next big chapter, it’s only right that we stop and celebrate what we achieved together at last year’s cornerstone event.

The Impact: $6,900 for MISA

We gathered 60 guests at our 2025 event, and the energy in the room was undeniable. Thanks to your generosity and the spirit of the community, we are proud to share that we raised $6,900 for MISA (Men’s Information and Support Association). This contribution goes directly toward providing professional, in-person support for men and their families across the Moreton Bay region.

Voices That Mattered

We were incredibly lucky to be joined by three speakers who didn’t just share stories—they shared their hearts. They reminded us that “checking in” isn’t just a catchy phrase; it’s a life-saving habit.

  • Justin Geange: A powerhouse poet and mental health advocate from Mates in Construction, Justin brought his unique blend of wit and wisdom to the stage.
  • Shaun Reeves: The founder of Hip Hops Brewers shared a particularly powerful moment with us—it was his first time publicly sharing his own journey with mental health. Having a local leader speak so openly was a highlight for everyone in the room.
  • Mitch Gray: A front-line corrections officer who gave us a raw, honest look at the importance of resilience and looking out for your mates in high-pressure environments.

The Team Behind the Night

An event like this doesn’t happen without the legends who back us. A massive shout-out to our 2025 sponsors who made the night possible:

  • Petrie Real Estate, Aspley Mazda, Accomplish Education, Moss Towing, Run with Rob, and WorkMates.

We also want to thank Trade Mutt for the speaker gifts, and our raffle donors: Pagoni, Reno Revivals, FleetCrew, Jericho, Active Life Gym, 57 Washes, Community Bank Samford, How to Help and Super Butchers.

What’s Next? The 2026 Night-Time Panel Chat

Change only happens through commitment. It’s not just about moving beyond the digital screen; it’s about that commitment to your mates, and to yourself. We are carrying that 2025 momentum straight into our biggest event yet.
